During the renovation or development of your bathroom's architecture, a wisely-chosen set of plumbing components such as taps, showers, pipes etc. would diminish the maintenance costs of your bathroom to a large extent. If however, the low quality bathroom fittings are preferred then a long spell of irritating repairs is awaited.

Hence, it becomes quite mandatory to identify your plumbing system first and then continue arranging or buying the other components.

In order to render your bathroom a sound plumbing structure and functioning, you need to identify your bathroom's plumbing system first. Remember that the associated plumbing components should be installed in agreement with the plumbing system type.

Hence, identifying your bathroom's plumbing system forms the basis for the selection of other accessories as well. There are generally two types of plumbing systems , one is the high pressure plumbing system and the other one is the low pressure plumbing system. The high pressure systems don't use a separate cold water tank to supply cold water and instead rely on an automated single unit. Whereas the low pressure systems have separate arrangements for the supply of hot water and cold water.

Once the task of identifying the system is accomplished, go for the related tap type selection. For a high pressure system, a low pressure tap is recommended. However, in case of a low pressure system a high pressure tap is a definite thumbs down since it would not be able to supplement the mechanism of the low pressure system.

A quarter open and close tap offers high pressure as it allows only a quarter turn to stop and resume the water flow. To select the low pressure taps, buy the conventional clockwise/anticlockwise taps. These conventional taps are the popular choice as they correlate well with the high pressure plumbing mode.

Though the plumbing system can be identified by you as well but a recommendation from a licensed plumber /contractor is always handy when things start to get complex. He may also guide you with the selection of the taps, showers that bond well with the overall system.

Once wisely chosen plumbing peripherals and accessories for you plumbing scheme can ensure a long run for your plumbing system.
