Pet fish rearing is becoming more and more common, making the acquiring of pet fish increase in popularity. There are several types of fish that are kept as pets, which are very common. Looking at pet fish swimming around an aquarium with their colorful display is also relaxing. Pet fish, together with other kinds of pets, are used by many elderly and sick people as well as the disabled, under a system that comprises of animal therapy.
Freshwater fish is the most popular among the pet fish. These fish attracts many people and can be found in most aquarium shops as well as various retailers dealing in different types of fish such as guppies, angelfish and goldfish.
Besides the three fish types highlighted above, other fish types are also popular. One of these fish type is known as Damsel. Damsel, a salt water fish is very aggressive. The fish will not get along with other fish type when their number in the tank is overwhelming.
It is a great choice to include two types of damsel that are not aggressive like the blue damsel as well as the yellow tail damsel. Maintaining these two types of damsels is easy compared to the care needed for other kinds of fish such as domino damsel and the three stripped damsel. Damsels are able to survive tough conditions.
The mollies are a popular type of fresh water fish. Although mollies can survive in marine or salt water, it is recommended for them to be left in their natural habitat. Their ability to live in both salt and fresh water has made them very popular. The flexibility of the fish allows them to adapt to life in salt water although the process is long and tough.
The mollies is kept first inside a water bag and then saltwater is drenched slowly inside the bag. Another popular type of fish is referred to as clown fish. The clown fish became very popular soon after an animated movie featuring this type of fish, became popular among children.
Unlike the mollies that are able to adapt to a change in environment, the clown fish cannot, although maintaining them is easy. The fourth fish type that is popular is known as the shrimp. Though the shrimp is available in various types, the most popular and common is referred to as clean shrimp.
This fish has a stripe down the center that is red and white in color. The fish are very popular due to their easy maintenance. However, this type of fish should not be put in the pond with many other fish. |
