1. Keep your core strong. A large portion of your vocal power comes from the pocket of air that's surrounded by your floating ribs. Keeping your core strong with sit-ups and crunches is great way to improve the projection of your singing voice.
2. Focusing on mistakes will only hold you back. When you make a mistake on stage performing a piece, the chances that the audience noticed is very minimal. To sing well, get those negative feelings out of your head and sing with conviction.
3. Avoid weird habits to alter your voice. It's hard to enjoy a singer when they practice strange habits to make their voice sound like something else. Keep your voice pure and you're more likely to get the crowd's approval.
4. There's no guess work with pitches. It's easy to establish a professional from an amateur when it comes to singing well because the amateurs usually can't hit the pitches right away. Learn to act a note directly instead of scooping up to it and sounding unsure of your own voice.
