Developed for better golfers who rely on the distance and versatility of a fairway wood, the PING i15 Fairway Wood features a sleek, low profile shape that delivers high performance from all conditions. The stainless steel heads are slightly elongated from heel to toe for added forgiveness and internally weighted to produce low spinning shots with the penetrating trajectory preferred by more skilled golfers.
Like most fairway metals on the market, and in the PING lineup, the head of the i15 uses a 17-4 Stainless Steel metal. The shape is slightly elongated from heel to toe to add a bit of forgiveness. The custom internal weighting will help produce lower spinning shots with a more penetrating trajectory.
The Ping i15 fairway wood for sale allows you to adjust its lie-angle and swingweight as it has custom-fitting options. When it comes to Ping i15 fairway wood specs, this fairway has just the right weighting and is made just how a fairway wood should be. This is according to one satisfied golfer. This has a traditional look with a touch of modern.
The one word that always comes to mind when I look at it is sleek. I've mentioned earlier how small the size is and it translates as well when you are standing over it. If I had to make a direct comparison to a current fairway wood on the market, it would have to be the Titleist series. In particular, the F2 line because of its size.
The one thing that I noticed is that I was able to work the ball better with the i15. My normal ball flight is a low draw but on a few occasions, when the situation called for it, I was able to produce a fade. Just for fun I would throw down a few extra balls and was able to hit a hard draw and/or cut. That is one of the advantages of clubs that produce a bit more spin - you can move it, hopefully the way you want.
While overall I approved of what the Ping i15 Fairway Wood was trying to offer me, I felt as if it wasn't quite enough to make a dramatic jump. It is slightly pricey compared to other, competing clubs, and I felt that it didn't provide enough boost in my game to really wow me. Now, higher end players are going to tend to enjoy the Ping i15 more than casual players, but I usually have no problem using clubs deemed for higher skilled individuals. While I am no professional, I still feel that the Ping i15 could have done more to impress me than it did.
Golfer’s review: I first purchased the I15 5/wood. I was so impressed after 2 rounds of golf I went back and bought a 3/wood as well. I could never hit a 3/wood in my life but now I can reach that longer par 5's in two! Do not believe when every one says these are just clubs for the low handicaper. I play to 10-15 handicap and my buddy does 18. We both can hit the 3/wood 225 -230 most of the time. The 5/wood is just as impressive...210 220. I got both of these clubs with the yellow UST SHAFTS and again they are hot and straight off the face and off the fairway and tee. By now, you must know I like these clubs! BUY EM, YOU WILL LOVE THEM AS I DO!
