For every set of breakthrough irons (Nike Slingshot) there are at least two mediocre iterations of said iron. The Original Slingshot Irons were by far a breakthrough as compared to the vast majority of Super Game Improvement Irons that came out at that time. The next generation wasn't bad, but obviously they didn't change that much. An even larger version (Slingshot OSS) and a smaller more petite version with less mass and offset (Slingshot Tour). The "Game Improvement Versions" (Slingshot Tour) with less offset etc. were really just a watered down Slingshot, and I think Nike realized this, and in an effort to resuscitate the name, they brought these out. These aren't bad, but I think that's just it, they should have finished the job, and maybe even given these a new name. They really aren't Slingshots anymore, and besides that marketing has already gotten a little long in the tooth. C'mon, that's well before Sumo, which is itself ready for a makeover. Had they really followed through on the design, these could have been some great game improvement clubs.

The Nike Slingshot 4D irons are a set of game improvement irons for the player not looking for a super high MOI set of clubs. If you are looking for something a little more ‘workable’, but still extremely forgiving, the Slingshot 4D irons could be a great option for you. It doesn’t hurt that these irons look great in the bag as well!
