Garter Belts And Girls Who Used To Wear Them

I just watched a video on the internet about how to wear garter belts. One of the reasons for women to wear garter belts the woman in the video said was to spice up the sex life. It is interesting to note that a once necessary part of a woman's apparel is now a way to spice up the sex life. Can you imagine a time when women had to wear garter belts to hold up their stockings and not think of them as a way to enhance sex?
Panty hose have taken over the stocking market these days. I cannot tell you when panty hose hit the market but I can tell you the product has not enhanced people's sex life. Convenience is the sales point when developing under garments for women. They after all are the ones who wear them.
But let us say this right off. Long before videos about garter belts online women have stopped dressing with the idea of sex appeal in mind. The garter is novelty item today. Oh sure you can see them in magazine lingerie ads. But only as part of a sex costume women would don only one night a year... If then; on the husband or boyfriend's birthday night... If he is lucky. Then is it back into the drawer until next year. Women let's face it do not even wear dresses.
You might be too young to know this but women wore dresses to work, to the super market, and even to school. When I was in elementary school and junior high school or middle school if that is what you call it, teachers and female students wore dresses. Let me tell you I had some teachers who made going to class a real treat just to see how high her skirt was that day. And there were some good looking girls my age to sporting some lovely dresses.
Today however you can go to the ball game, the post office, or the market and all you see is women in slacks, pant suits, or blue jeans... No dresses to be seen. Why is this? Why no dresses let alone garter belts? The most obvious answer is convenience.
And for any of you Brits out there when I say pants I am referring to trousers and not underwear. So yes it is a lot easier for women to wear slacks than a dress. You do not have to be a woman to know that. It is easier to put on slacks, easier to wash and iron them. And I suppose it is easier to sit down and do daily chores wearing pants than a dress.
The trouser wearing female however is a result of the 1970's women's lib movement when bra burning was the craze. Women is that rebellious time went onto college campuses and threw there bras into burning trash cans.
If you have ever seen video footage of some of these events you will see that most if not all these women were wearing dresses... Short dresses at that. What was not filmed however was women burning their dresses and garter belts; and along with the fire burned the common everyday sexy dressing woman about town. |
