A wardrobe is a reflection of a person's occupation, attitude, lifestyle taste, and his aesthetic sense. The essential items of any wardrobe, irrespective of country, culture, age and gender are clothing, shoes and hosiery. Accessories like ties, belts, watches, cufflinks, caps/hats, etc. (for men). Purses/hand bags, watches, jewellery, cosmetics, lingerie, scarves etc. (for women) are also considered as the important items in all wardrobes.
Nowadays people are becoming very much fashion conscious. They want to wear what their favourite celebrities wear. One usually selects his wardrobe according to his/her likings and disliking. If we talk about younger generation, peer pressure is more prevalent in them. Today's generation prefers to wear brands like Boss, Gucci, Chanel and Pink, which are the most popular brands amongst youngsters.
These days, when both the men and women work 9 to 5pm, they usually select ready to wear clothes, as it takes less time and energy than to go a designer and get your clothes stitched according to your size and style. A must to have part of a woman's wardrobe is her lingerie. It is most important to have a comfortable sleepwear in everyone's wardrobe.
Formal clothing is an integral part of your wardrobes, hence it should be chosen wisely, keeping our lifestyle in view. Silk and lace dresses, gowns, clutch purses and stiletto heels are assets of a woman's wardrobe. Likewise, suits and designer shirts to be worn at dinners and cocktail parties should be available in their wardrobes.
One should also have the basic sportswear, trainer shoes and swim wear in his wardrobe. For summer clothing, light and airy fabrics and for winter, woolen clothes, jackets, scarves, caps and mittens are essential.
It is wise to choose less expensive clothes for kids, as they will be growing out of their clothes every now and then. Their clothes should be bought according to their size and age. It is advisable to keep extra clothing for them e.g. shirts, shoes, socks, etc, as they may lose or mess up their belongings.
In countries with lots of rains, a raincoat is the most essential item. In winter season, we all need woolen clothes. People usually have particular dresses for particular occasions or sometimes may be for religious reasons. For example, in many Muslim countries, veil is considered as the fundamental part of women's dress.
We must not forget that we are not dressed up unless we wear the right sort of shoes with the right dress! Shoes are usually expensive, but you must consider its other features too when buying them for yourself. You must know your shoe size, and make sure before buying if it's easy to wear or not. Suede and Leather shoes are common for men. Women may fancy wearing flats, pumps and heels. They definitely need sandals and slippers for the summer. |
