Web Developer/Programmer

What's Your Impact (WYI) is looking for outstanding web developers to be responsible for creating innovative, reusable systems and tools to help drive community activism and education with respect to climate change. WYI is an environmental awareness group whose main goal is to inform people about global warming and what they can do about it as individuals.





Using your ingenuity and solid knowledge of web technologies, you will work with our team to support the existing site maintenance as well as develop new aspects of our evolving site. Programming, design and database administration are all elements of this position as well as developing specifications and making recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies.

Job Description:





* Maintain and enhance existing Web applications and internal systems.


* Work with designers, content producers and other team members in order to determine appropriate architecture and other technical solutions, and make relevant recommendations.


* Research and develops new web technologies.


* Perform testing of Web applications and systems, engaging team members as necessary.





Job Requirements:





* Experience developing and implementing open source software projects including working with other people’s code.


* Creative with the ability to execute a web design concept.


* Experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, MySQL and Ajax programming.


* Self-starter with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities while working within tight schedules.


* Can handle project/task independently as well as be a team player.


* Knowledge of ActionScript, Lisp and current SEO techniques would be an asset.
