There are many popular job positions and those industries that are hiring will differ depending on the economy and other factors. You can find job positions directly from companies or in the classifieds. Each job position will include recommended experience and recommended skills for each position. You need to make sure you fit the qualifications for each job position as hirers will immediately reject your application if your do not meet the specified guidelines.

Each industry will have a variety of job positions associated with it. The following positions all fall under the hospitality industry; cocktail servers, food and beverage servers, room service waiters, line chefs, fry/grill cooks, pastry bakers, banquet cooks, dish washers, accommodation jobs, travel positions, banquet services, waiters and waitresses, car hops, dietary aides, executive chefs, back line cook, saucier, bartender, café barista and cleaning positions. Some job positions require no experience while other may require that you have had similar jobs in the past. Some positions can be temporary and others can last for years depending on your goals.

As with any year there will be popular jobs that have a high demand for employment. Some of the more popular jobs for the upcoming year include medical services, engineering services, green jobs, infrastructure, self employment, telecommuting, nursing jobs, computing services, education, energy positions, finance, and small businesses. Alternative energy, renewable energy and green jobs are all a new market for jobs that were once part of a small industry but that they are now expanding rapidly.

The fastest growing industry is in green jobs and environmental causes. Consultants and in house specialists will be the main two important job positions in this industry. New companies will be designed to be environmentally conscious and older companies will try and revamp their operations to being more green. It will also be highly desirable for companies to let the public know of the efforts they are making towards the environment as well as keeping up with new environmental legislation.

Education will remain as it usually is as there is always a need for teachers at all grade levels including universities. The education industry tends to be fairly constant throughout economic changes though with the down turn there is even a greater demand as students are staying in school or applying for graduate programs as they wait for the economy to improve.

The healthcare is always a huge industry looking for qualified workers, particularly for medical services. Elderly care is very important and throughout the industry you will not have a problem finding the position you desire. Medical technicians need to have some very specialized training but once this is achieved then there are many available positions.

The technology industry is still going strong and there is currently a demand for software engineers. Though this industry is still expanding it will plateau eventually and there is much competition with international companies. This industry has the highest salaries of most and a large pool to search as technology companies are found all over the world.
