Retablos are a sophisticated Andean folk art in the form of portable boxes which depict religious, historical, or everyday events that are important to the Indigenous people of the highlands of Bolivia and Peru.
These Retablos have been hand made by a Bolivian family using a simple process to give different tones, textures and colors that have been passed down through the centuries. This art form has existed centuries, and has changed very little being passed from generation to generation over time.
The artisans show their traditions, religion and architectural facades with these creative representations. They are one of a kind, and each one is slightly different since they are made by hand, one at a time.
Our Retablos have been hand selected and privately imported for your enjoyment. We have brought only a small quantity back from Bolivia, and these will be gone quickly.
