Legal Counsel

What's Your Impact (WYI) is seeking individuals who want to volunteer their legal expertise to a cause that is working to stop climate change. WYI is an environmental awareness group who's main goal is to inform people about global warming and what they can do about it as individuals.





Through your skills, WYI will gain a valuable legal consultant that can provide expert advice when drafting policies and proposed changes to existing municipal by-laws, outline areas of liability for the organization, and represent WYI in all legal matters.

Job Description:





* Provide legal counsel, opinions and advice on various matters.


* Draft letters, opinions, contracts, and any other documents as necessary.


* Communicate directly with government and other authoritative bodies on behalf of WYI.


* Conduct legal research and manage legal files.





Job Requirements:





* Experience in or knowledge of administrative law, regulatory and litigation matters, in private practice or with a large organization.


* Demonstrated organizational skills and experience in participating in litigation matters and achieving successful results.


* Computer literacy in a Windows environment is a requirement.


* Being a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec is an asset.


* Strong academic credentials including a Bachelor of Civil Law and/or Bachelor of Laws would be an asset.
