Many of us who envy people with flat stomachs think that the only way we can get a flat stomach is my doing a lot of abdominal exercises. We believe that people with flat stomachs probably work out at the gym. Commercial advertisements too add to the confusion by displaying various contraptions to obtain a flat stomach. In reality however, while exercise is no doubt important, it is but one side of the coin. The other side is the menu i.e. the food that we eat. Our diet has to complement the exercise and for this, we need healthy eating habits.
If we exercise while neglecting our diet, we don’t get rid of any fat that might be there. Strange as it might sound, faulty diet leads to our body burning muscle rather than fat. So we should exercise by all means but we should complement it with proper food taken in the right quantity at the right time.
Our first healthy eating habit tip is to eat 5 or 6 times a day (i.e. roughly every two hours). These should be small meals consisting of either nuts or dried fruits or half a fruit such as an apple or orange and so on. In between you have your 3 regular meals but of smaller portions.
